When evaluating this Lion Legends Project, I took a more immersive direction. I thought that my lions needed an identity, a reason for why they were depicted as they are, a sense of why we were "minting" them into the space at all. What was that really, the minting? I saw it as a chance to get inside the NFT itself and speak from the perspective of a minted lion. The following is how I began doing that.
It was a saving measure, at first. Dr. Trivago brought us into the blockchain. We were led to a portal in a desert environment looking no different from home. There we bred to 500 just to avoid genetic drift, but then we moved onward to a place called the crags. These crags were like modern caves, rock exteriors, but the deeper you went, the more they became like a lab. We were sorted in the crags, tagged with numbers, and placed in pride compounds. With periodic tests and training engagements, we began to evolve. Food was provided, and as mutations developed, some were sorted out of our unit and sent below to the Station or across into the Prowling Lands. We didn't see either sorted lion again unless we followed; none were returned at the compound.
With the good Doctors' enhancements, the rise was more than anyone imagined. We understood most of the human commands, our preferred walking style became upright, as natural as any human, and the researchers and personnel on the project were blown away. During our stay in the prowling yards, some of us would have coloring changes. A reddish fur or blue or green would slowly cover our universally taupe exteriors. Once a month, a group of lions deemed "Autonomous" were escorted through the cardinal golden doors to enter an environment more suited for the human lifestyle.
The females were segregated after the Prowling Yards for ongoing trait developments. We saw the lionesses being loaded onto train cars. Don't worry, we were told you'll be reunited again soon. For a few weeks, we guys also got more relaxed. Cigars, Hawaiian shirts, chillaxing in the Sahara Savannah Club, it was good to feel like a tribe again. Many of us took up learning trades from mechanics to medicine. Some of us regularly traveled through the Prowling yards and into the Craggs to assist with the experiments. The future world would need a learned lion, and we were proud to create more.
It was still captivity, though. The longer we stayed in this golden prison, the more agitated some became. When would we get to visit our ladies, and would we ever return to the outside?
As males, we figured we numbered 6000, and mathematically, we reasoned, we no longer needed to be in captivity. As lions of a new order, we dubbed ourselves LION LEGENDS and formulated a plan to escape. We would simply go back the way we had come, but it had to feel organic,
It required a golden key for the first four cardinal and mid-cardinal gates. These gates would stay open long enough for about 200 lions to pass before auto shutting. Then we would be back in the Prowling Yards. Only 200 lions were allowed in the prowling yards for each compass direction. If we could get a complete shift of 1600 to the crags and 1600 to the prowling yards, that's nearly half of us. We made it familiar that lions liked the freedom to go through the Prowling Yards and occasionally to the Craggs. Slowly we started decreasing our roaming numbers. It would be time for a sudden departure when we were mainly across these layers.
We made teams rush all eight doors simultaneously to overrun the facility protocols and press our ways through the yards and out to the crags en mass. Once on the other side, we would be back at the faux desert and could use the robust Lovelace code stolen from the medical professionals and be sent to wallets worldwide.
Once having garnered human interest, we could also prepare to rescue the lionesses. And ultimately, we could have our cubs naturally again. No more injections, blood draws, or scans. We wanted to be free.
The date of our escape was chosen OCTOBER 28, 2021. Although we had a security guard betray the pride, the rest of the flight went flawlessly. All rescuers who had made pledges for our release were honored with refunds and could collect any un-adopted lions available. 5,550 lions made it out alive.
I was one of them; my name is Antoni. Next: Antoni's Escape
